What Is Strikethrough Text?
Strikethrough draws a line through text. This generator creates a copyable version by adding the Unicode combining long stroke overlay after each letter or number cluster. The line is part of the copied text rather than a CSS decoration.
It is useful for a playful correction or a visibly crossed-out phrase. It does not delete or hide the original words: readers and software can still access them. Never use strikethrough to redact private information.
This is not the same as tracked changes or native formatting in a document editor. Marks may look uneven in some apps. Pasting the generated result back here does not add more copies of the same overlay.

Yes. The overlay is a Unicode character included in the clipboard output. The receiving app still controls whether and how it displays that character.
Does strikethrough hide the original text?
